Sunday School

We're excited to share with you information about this year's Sunday School program here at Church of Our Saviour. We will be following the newest updates from Augsburg Fortress called Spark.

Spark follows the weekly scripture readings used in Sunday Worship! The lessons are tailored to be age and grade appropriate for the different learning stages of our youth. Sunday School is open to all children, from age 3 through 5th grade and takes place during the 9:15 a.m. hour on Sunday

Please contact us if you are interested in helping with our Sunday School program.

First Communion

First Communion class is offered to children in the fall, usually when the child reaches 4th grade. The course includes a booklet for both the youth and their guardians, as well as an evening with the Pastor.

Confirmation

Confirmation is an opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th graders to grow in their Christian faith and community by studying the Bible and the catechism, as well as participate in service projects.

Confirmation also assists parents and guardians to fulfill the promises made to their children in Baptism. Congregation members work with the Pastor to serve as mentors in the faith for our youth.

A schedule is distributed during the first class. Typically, we meet 3 times each month, on Wednesdays, with 2 evenings in class, and 1 reserved for fellowship and servant events.

We do our best to follow the local school schedules, including vacations.

6:30 - 6:45 p.m. // Gathering & Pizza
6:45 - 7:45 p.m  // Class Time
8:00 p.m.  // Closing and Dismissal

Material covered includes:

  • Martin Luther's Small Catechism (including the 10 Commandments, The Lord's Prayer, the Creed, Baptism, and Holy Communion)

  • Old Testament

  • New Testament

  • Lutheran heritage, teachings, and beliefs

The second week of every month is set aside for small groups to participate in either fellowship or servant events.

  • Fellowship events are intended to develop deep and lasting friendships among the youth.

  • Servant events are intended to move faith into action, or in other words "to walk the talk of faith."

Vacation Bible School

For the past several years, Church of Our Saviour has teamed up with Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church and Crossways Camping Ministries to provide a memorable week of Vacation Bible School in mid-August. VBS sessions are held at Immanuel-Trinity's Family Life Center located at 20 Wisconsin American Drive.

Adult Classes

Christian education is a lifelong process. Church of Our Saviour offers a weekly education hour each Sunday in the church parlor at 9:15AM.

Topics are varied, with guest speakers, films, and study leaders. We cover the biblical and theological issues of our times, as well as social issues that affect our community and world today.

Pour yourself a coffee, grab a treat, pull up a seat, and join us between services.
