The Church of Our Saviour Quilting Group meets every Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Participants usually bring a bag lunch to share during a fellowship time before finishing up at 1:00 p.m.
The average number of quilts made per year is 200, and helpers are welcome to attend as often or seldom as their schedule permits. All are welcome to come down on a Tuesday and see how it is done. There are many tasks to choose from - ironing, tracing, cutting squares, counting squares, ripping clothes, tying, sewing, making backs and middles.
First-timers are encouraged to call the church office before attending, to make sure that week's meeting has not been postponed due to weather or a church event conflict.
There are also ways to assist with quilting at home, if you cannot attend on Tuesdays. For more information, contact the church office.
