Mutual Ministry

The Mutual Ministry is proactive and supportive of all our parish's various ministries. Our mission is "Building Up the Body of Christ!" Our Ministry meets with leadership semi-annually to ensure good communication, and we act as a liaison between Council, Ministries, and membership. We also conduct "exit interviews" with those who leave our church family, and attempt to address issues as they are identified.

The Ministry meets once a month at Church of Our Saviour.

Mission

We, the members of this Ministry, believe we have been called by God to this task and will prayerfully and honestly strive, with God's help, to participate in the work of building up the Body of Christ here at Church of Our Saviour.

Responsibilities

The Mutual Ministry shall have the responsibility to:

  1. Maintain strict confidentiality of all information shared during Ministry work, except for the recommendations to Congregation Council.
  2. Develop open communication about expectations, attitudes, concerns, joys and frustration with the congregation and the staff
  3. Serve as a facilitator of open communications for the people, pastor(s) and staff , using Matthew 18:15-17 as a guide to resolving issues.
  4. Serve as a group with whom the people of the congregation, pastor(s), and staff can test ideas and share confidential matters.
  5. Provide the people of the congregation, pastors(s) and staff with feedback about ministry in the congregation.
  6. Conduct exit interviews of parishioners.

Goals

  1. Meet with our spiritual leaders semi-annually to ensure proper communications. (i.e.: pastor, staff and council president)
  2. Meet with Ministries and Council to check-in on how things are going.
  3. Support and promote our new core values system. ( J.E.W.E.L.)
  4. Support the Natural Church Development efforts.
