Pastor Bill Gruenstern

Rev. William P. Gruenstern assumed duties as the sixth called pastor of Church of Our Saviour on May 1, 2009. Previously he served congregations in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Most recently he was supply pastor at Fairwater, followed by Valders WI. A native of Fond du Lac, Pastor Bill graduated from Marian College of Fond du Lac and Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque IA. He also studied at the Goethe Institut, Schwaebisch-Hall, and taught at the Missionsseminar in Neuendettelsau, both in Germany.

Pastor Gruenstern and his wife Georgette (GeGe) have two school-aged children: Melanie and Bobby. A Brooklyn, NY native, GeGe works in special education in the West Bend School District and currently is pursuing a master's in counseling at Concordia in Milwaukee.

God's Word and will are central to Pastor Bill's decisions. He believes strongly that his behavior must be consistent with his theology, whether in self-study, giving pastoral care, teaching a class, working with a task force or committee, preaching and leading worship or taking the Word out into the community. He believes that the church must always utilize compassionate methods to care for the needs of members, even as others are welcomed to take part in the ministry of the people of God. This is a privilege as we speak about God's presence to people in their pain, seek answers with them in the midst of their doubts and despair, and additionally as we celebrate with them their passages and victories.

He sees the parish as being instrumental in affecting people in a way that no other organization can. Pastor Bill has worked with many and various groups and associations in finding their place in the neighborhood as they, along with the church, seek to serve others. .
